Everything you need to know about booking, insurance, pick-up, and more.
Booking & Eligibility
Q1: What documents are required?
A valid driver’s license for the primary driver. Chinese/International licenses accepted; non-US licenses must also show passport and visa page. Booking info must match your ID.
Q2: Minimum age?
Generally 21+. Under 21 must provide personal full-coverage insurance (Liability, Collision, Comprehensive) that covers rentals; otherwise we cannot release the car.
Basic Insurance: Third-party liability + collision; $2,500 deductible/incident; personal effects not covered. Full Coverage: $0 deductible, theft & collision covered; void if rental terms are violated or if the driver is unlisted.
Q5: May I use my own insurance?
Yes. It must be full coverage (Liability + Collision + Comprehensive) and explicitly cover rental cars and all listed drivers; proof verified at pickup. Credit-card “rental insurance” is not accepted.
Q6: What should I do in an accident?
Ensure safety and call police. Collect: 1) Other driver’s license; 2) Their insurance card; 3) License plate photo; 4) Photos of damage; 5) Location. Then contact our customer service promptly.
Deposit & Payments
Q7: How is the deposit taken and released?
Rentals under 30 days: credit-card pre-authorization (not a charge). We submit release within 3 business days after return. Rentals 30+ days: a deposit is charged; we reconcile and initiate refund within 3 business days after return.
Q8: What can be charged against my deposit/card?
If incurred: damage/deductibles, cleaning/deodorizing, violations & tickets, tolls, excess mileage, overtime, delivery/pickup & parking, fuel or EV charging, etc.
Self-service pick-up/return available where applicable. If changing return time, please contact us early.
Q11: Do you offer delivery/airport handover?
For Greater Los Angeles, long-term rentals may request door-to-door service. Ask customer service for details.
Mileage, Fuel & Tolls
Q12: How is mileage calculated?
As shown on your booking (e.g., Unlimited or 100 miles/day, $1/mile over). Refer to your booking page.
Q13: Fuel & EV charging policy?
Gas cars: full-to-full. EVs: return at similar state of charge. Shortfall is billed at actual top-up cost (no service fee). Some networks charge idle/overstay fees—follow station rules.
Q14: How are tolls/express lanes billed?
Vehicles support plate-based electronic tolling (e.g., FastTrak). We advance tolls/platform fees and settle after return at actual cost without service fee.
Vehicles & Add-Ons
Q15: Do you guarantee a specific model?
Except for economy class, we try to honor specific requests. If fleet logistics prevent it, we provide a similar class/price vehicle or a complimentary upgrade.
Q16: Can I add extra drivers? Child seats?
Yes. Extra drivers must meet the same ID/age/insurance requirements. Child seats available—please reserve in advance.
Q17: Anything special for EVs?
Charge outside peak hours when possible and watch for idle/overstay fees. Return with similar charge to pickup.
Rules & Safety
Q18: Smoking/Pets?
No smoking or vaping—cleaning/deodorizing fees apply if violated. Pet policy per your booking; cleaning fees may apply.
Q19: Cross-state or cross-border?
Interstate travel is generally allowed (see your booking). Mexico/Canada are not permitted. For long trips, please inform us in advance.
Q20: Property safety tips
Do not leave valuables or visible items in the car. Smash-and-grab thefts occur in some areas; personal property is typically not covered by vehicle damage insurance.
Roadside Assistance
Q21: What if the car has an issue on the road?
Please contact our customer service immediately. In the Los Angeles area we partner with AAA for 24/7 roadside assistance (per your plan) and can arrange nearby repair or a replacement vehicle.
